 Our proprietary method of purification during the food manufacturing process ensures you are receiving a clean, safe, high quality food product.

Not only do we start with high quality water, we use a revolutionary process to extract and remove high levels of TDS (total dissolved solids) so you never have to worry about contaminants!

THE PUREST WATER FREEZES FIRST!

The advanced method of  production we utilize in our facility freezes the purest water first - meaning the lowest levels of TDS first. Our process flushes out water with high TDS levels, along with it any impurities. 

During the freeze cycle, fresh water is continuously added to replace the water filtered out, ensuring that only water with low TDS levels is available to freeze, making our ice clean, food-grade ice with one of the lowest levels of TDS available. 

Both Montauk Ice & manufacturer Long Island Ice are longstanding members of the International Packaged Ice Association (IPIA) and active in multiple committees.  

Together, our companies we have paved the way for food-grade, safe ice, not only on Long Island, but were also instrumental in lobbying congress & the FDA to reclassify ice as a food product in the early 2000's.

 
End product testing is conducted regularly by an independent lab to ensure clean, safe, food-grade ice! 

 Our strict procedures and policies are proof of our commitment to the safety of anyone consuming our food grade product.  

Starting with quality water means nothing without strict food safety protocols! We enforce our rigid food-safety standards throughout every step of the entire manufacturing & distribution processes!

Our ice is never touched by human hands and produced from an entirely contained & covered NSF (National Sanitation Foundation) audited manufacturing line.
